We bought this fryer for my grandfather last year and have been using it ever since. We are not inexperienced when it comes to turkey frying. My uncle usually fried our turkeys for us every year. I do admit our first run at it, the turkey wasn't fully done as someone previously stated on here. There was a simple solution for that, throw it back in there! We immediately put the turkey back in and let it finish cooking. That was our experiment turkey and we ate all of it. The second time we had the same problem and just threw the remainder in the oven to finish off. The meat was tender and juicy, we injected ours and all that you could taste was tender cajun flavors. We have of course fried 4 more turkeys since then, and needless to say, they all came out wonderful. We've done rubs, olive oil, italian dressing injects, etc. so all of these bad reviews saying it isn't like fried turkey, I just can't understand. That crispy wing that I ate tasted like fried turkey to me! We are purchasing all of the accessories this year for Christmas in hopes of trying the other recipes for fried chicken, wings, and rotisserie chicken from the Bigsizzle website. Buying 'Big Bertha' 30,000 BTU 13" Propane Stove Burner - Electric Start

I bought this burner to use in a home built, propane powered meat smoker. The smoke box is 20x20x48 - so pretty large. So far this burner works well It has a large surface area so produces plenty of heat without being a high pressure burner like in a turkey fryer. It will put out plenty of heat to get the metal box and meat heated to temp (225 or so) and then can still back down to maintain that heat without over heating. I received this fryer in August as a birthday gift and I am very glad that I did. The kit comes with everything you need to get started, minus the propane tank and oil. Assembly was a breeze and only took around 10 minutes at the most (I assembled it while relaxing in the garage).

As some reviewers have stated after the first couple uses some of the paint for the stand was burned off resulting in it no longer appearing new. I can see how this would bother some users but for me it did not detract from the quality of the product. I am more of a function over appearance kind of person and the paint burning off did nothing to take away from the function of the stand.

I have owned and used the Big Easy for several seasons now. My first review was a 4 star for the only thing lacking was good cooking instructions. I did have to make some SS secures to hold meats better in the cage. Now I have experience thru experimentation and other user reviews it is a 5 star. This is the best fried turkey cooker! Its hard to admit, but it has reformed several die-hard oil fry turkey lovers. Sometimes for big parties we oil fry and Big Easy fry several birds. They are both good, sometimes hard to tell the difference, but most folks like the Big Easy done turkeys the best. It is more consistent, better tasting and the use, clean up could not be easier. Just like oil frying, wash and dry your turkey, bring your turkey up to room temp before putting into cooker (very important). I spray my birds with just a little high temperture canola oil, sprinkle with garlic pepper and salt. Best skin ever. Meat moist and tender. Drippings for Gravy!!!! It does take a little longer to cook than oil frying, but uses less gas. Very little monitoring while cooking so you can do other things. When done and while the cooked turkey is covered and resting before serving/carving (~15 minutes)I can have everything cleaned up and put away. It make slipping into that after turkey dinner coma so much easier! We eat turkey more often throughout the year. Good for parties. Virtually no maintenance and no wear. The burner is well made, quite heavy metal, and worked fabulously. The starter kicked in the flame each time, although I did have a long lighter handy in case.
